It seems that being locked out of your blog or grappling with the ‘white screen of death’ is a rite of passage with a WordPress blog. Throw in a busted ankle and you got it! I managed to miss the 1st birthday of “Every Day Adventures in Asia (Mostly)“!

Despite these set-backs, it has been a great year and this 4th quarter brought:
- A chance to work for the 1st time in Malaysia and then another assignment in Jakarta
- Progress on opening three companies …
As for the blog, the 4th quarter favourites were:
- Behind the billboard… Daddy Cool featuring a zany ad with my partner
- Canadian lass in Bollywood – Aspiring actress or dreams dashed? about my slightly caustic advice to a young Canadian woman
- Confessions of a reluctant entrepreneur with insight into the mad plan to open not one, not two but THREE companies
- A gripe about the constant construction near our home in Mumbai – My home, my peaceful sanctuary… invaded!
- Who keeps the house clean? about every day domestic drudgery
The “all time” favourites for the year are:

- A difficult topic brought yet again into the media with the rape and hanging of two cousins, ‘Eve Teasing’ – The other side of my love affair with India
- A tale of my trying to regain my Canadian accent to do a voice recording in Indonesia “Can you drop the Indian accent?” – Accents and voice overs
- Merry Christmas Mercedes?! when my partner was gifted a Merc for Christmas – a seriously sweet ride! 😉
- “Wanna work in Jakarta?” – Don’t mind if I do… again!
What a fantastic 1st year of blogging! Now if only I could banish forever the “white page of death”…

For the ankle, I’m not quite skipping and hopping… but am finally walking! 🙂
As for the technical difficulties – the issues with being locked out were linked to travels as google authenticator doesn’t like my other SIM cards.
Whereas the ‘white screen of death’ seems to be linked to internet security updates combined with some other still unresolved issues… I’m still struggling with this one and hope to look into further when home next week.
Congratulations! I think I must have been lucky as I haven’t had any problems with WP – yet 😉 Hope it works from now on – and your ankle too 😉
