Yes it is already silly hot but there is something worth any sweat.
There is silence. Only the sound of the birds.
You have no idea how extraordinary that is!
Even the happy squeals of children playing Holi throwing powdered colours in the morning is gone.
And with water shortages, increased awareness about the toxicity in some dyes, this is a new and improved Holi with minimum mess.
Can you imagine? Some folks even played holi by throwing flower petals?
When you have lived with almost non-stop construction for years… the incredible calm of a full day holiday with ZERO noise is immense!
Throwing flower petals? Sounds nice!!!
But, I have to admit that I love the vibrant colors of the powder.
I thought a rather novel approach!! 🙂
Happy Holi to you too!!!!
I can understand how it feels when Mumbai is incredibly quiet. Enjoy the extended weekend. What’s your Easter plan?
Partner’s family is in from Canada, have a ladies ‘tea’ (it isn’t what you think!) tomorrow and my partner is performing Sunday so lots happening. 🙂
Wow, silence anywhere in India is very hard to believe. It must be magical.
Magic indeed! 🙂
Enjoy the silence! xD
Sounds like every Sunday in Germany 🙂
Don’t worry the Shiv Sena made up for it today… Easter Weekend is now Shivaji’s birthday celebration. Who cares if he was actually born on 19 Feb, it has more impact to take to the streets in loud celebrations when folks are going to church or family feasts. 😉
All sounds a bit Irish haha! Any excuse for a knees up!
I can just about feel your shoulders relaxing all the way over here in Mexico.
Yup! It was a much needed day of peace and tranquility. Call it a mini ‘stay-cation’ at home! 🙂
Completely understand Carissa and whilst nothing like your three years of construction, after three years of Chinese New Year celebrations, I used to look forward to the quiet. Always enjoy your posts.
Quiet in these parts is precious. 🙂
