There are a lot of things different about living in India vs Canada… not the least of which is typically the weather!
When people think of India, they immediately imagine blazing heat!
And Canada? Let’s just say the exact opposite…
And if its Winnipeg? Try swirling snowstorms. And Mumbai? Warm, humid perennial summer!
So this week when my father mentioned how nice and warm it is in Winnipeg? I just so happened to check the temperature…
There in Winnipeg…
And here in Mumbai….
Are you kidding me? How rare is it to have EXACTLY the same temperature in two such otherwise different climates?

Haha, here in Germany we got also temperautres reaching that high. Funny enough though it has been just snowing here 1 1/2 weeks ago with subzero temperatures! 🙂
Oh Winnipeg can get higher! Even high 30’c in the summer… However snow? Seriously in May?? That can’t be normal in Germany. Winnipeg however? I’ve lived through more than one blizzard in April / May! 🙂

I’ve heard its been rather cool in your parts….
I would never ever think that the weather in Canada would be the same as in India.
However, during winter here in Taiwan, 10 degrees here feels like below zero temps in Canada because of the humidity. Summer temps here are feel hotter and stickier because of it as well.
I know… who’d a thunk it, eh? I do get the impact of humidity though… I’m originally a prairie girl where its a ‘dry’ cold (or heat). Whereas Mumbai? Humidity all the way. So totally get the hotter and stickier kinda thing. 🙂
That’s pretty incredible. It reminds me of a fellow Aussie in Canada. We were in Vancouver. She’d checked the weather in Sydney. It was 15 and raining. In Vancouver it was 16 and raining. Only thing was it was mid winter in Sydney and mid summer in Vancouver.

How interesting to know that. I note the humidity is very different Carissa. I think high humidity is bad for hair – makes it frizzy. Yuck!!!
Frizzy hair I could care less about. 😉 Its the energy sapping element of humidity that gets to me!
I hear you. You just don’t feel like doing anything because you have no energy. Ps I don’t get frizzy hair but all my friends do and they tell me they hate it.

I think that actually is good, isn’t it? If you’re traveling you don’t have to switch between hot and cold climate. Same temperature makes you feel at home. By the way, the humidity factor of Mumbai is a bigger problem than heat, I guess. I am better off in Vasai with practically no skyscrapers around.
Too true! Years ago I lived in Delhi – SDA right next to Deer Park.. it was a good 5 degrees cooler entering the colony complements of all the green. Way better than a jungle of concrete blocks. 🙂
Well, hold on, the MET guys says monsoon is early this year, so that will drop the mercury a bit. Hopefully.

My sister just left toronto after visiting me from winnipeg and was telling me about the crazy warm weather. It’s the same in Edmonton as well where much of my family lives.
All about perspective… for me, such temperatures are now “Wow! It’s cool today!” 🙂
