A common sight in India are families of 4 or 5 perched precariously together on a motorcycle. Dad driving with another kid in front of him. Mom at the back with a babe clutched on one side and daughter squished between her parents.
Yet the ‘seat’ space is limited… And it turns out, just enough for a cat to comfortably stretch out and have a nice nap!
Don’t believe me? Here’s another ‘scooter kitty’!
Of course the REALLY cool cats hang out beside their motorcycles…
Bandra bike cats don’t need fancy photo ops…
I’ve also seen folks transport their animals by bike – like a goat in front, driver behind. I’m amazed at both the engenuity and circumstances that leads to such creative vehicular adventures.

This always makes me cringe so much!!!
Such a common sight, isn’t it? Nicer to see kittens relaxing on scooters than families precariously balanced!
Definitely!!
I love kittens, I have always had cats until I moved to India… sadly my MIL is scared of animals 😦
Pity but quite common. My ex MIL was petrified of cats, dogs, chipkalis, pretty much anything other than humans and fish! 🙂
I think mine is also scared of fish 😛
Egads!
It’s funny how similar Jakarta is to Mumbai! Cats are lounging around their motorcycles all over the place here too 🙂 One funny sight here is a motorcycle with several riders and one has a giant bird-cage strapped to his/her back.
Bird cages? Nope! Not a common sight in Mumbai… Funny how I didn’t see much of this in the part of KL I was staying or working… suspect if I moved further out, may find more creative use of transportation!
Necessity being the mother of invention and all that 🙂
Indeed! I’m always impressed (and sometimes slightly frightened) by the ingenuity!
Sounds lethal! Cute cats though!
