Trophy Accident – Celebrating 100 Followers

I’m still a complete neophyte when it comes to navigating the wonderful world of WordPress and blogging features. Only today when going through the Reader did I notice a funny little thing labelled “Trophy Case” on the right hand column.

I clicked on the link to discover that since 23 Sept 2013 there are 100 fabulous folks following this blog. How the heck did that happen?

Thanks folks!

Followers (23 Sept 2013)

And because I’m a little slow… between this “Trophy” and today, apparently we’re up to 114 followers, augmented by an additional 60 through Twitter.

So thanks folks, keep following, commenting, liking and most importantly reading and publishing your own blogs! Good luck to you achieving a happy milestone when not looking!

Happy 1st October!

  1. Another milestone 🙂
I get a ton of ‘junk’ followers every day… i.e. people who have no interest in my blog (or any blog, I presume) and who just want to sell stuff or services, or who have weird (religious, political etc) agendas. Tedious!
But I’m delighted every time a ‘real’ blogger comes along and joins the fray.

    • Sounds terribly tedious… So… do you ‘kick out’ the ‘riff raff’ fake followers?

      • You can’t really… and they’re no real bother, as they are totally silent, but when they first arrive, of course you click on their site to see what they’re about, and that’s how they achieve their objective. It’s not that big a deal, but when there’s ten to twenty a day, slight irritation sets in 😉

  2. Congratulations! It’s exciting to reach a certain milestone, isn’t it? I’m pretty new at this myself, and I find it gratifying that there are folks out there reading and liking my posts. And I’ve made friends along the way, too, which is a bonus. A huge one! 🙂

Congratulations! I get quite a lot of the fake ones as well…it’s kind of bothering but for 10 fake, there’s usually one who’s really great!

    • Fake followers, eh? However have no doubt the ‘gems’ are worth all the ‘dudes’. 😉 Most for my wee 100 are reasonably recognizable… lots of friends n family that comment outside of the Word Press blogging fraternity. A few posts have sparked quite interesting conversations / email / msgs exchanges – which makes it all fun and engaging! 🙂

Congratulations! I love wordpress for its little encouragements. Today I saw that I hit my 500 likes by my readers. it is no point kidding myself that it doesn’t matter and it is just a figure but it does put a silly smile in your face (or my face), doesn’t it? 😀
