“I’m late! I’m late! For a very important date!!”

Clearly I’m late to WordPress’s “Zero to hero: 30 Days to a Better Blog” given that it is officially over!

My efforts to fast-track screeched to a halt – distracted by the play, preparations for Malaysia and oodles of other activities to be revealed in due course…

And honestly? I found the steps less than stellar. At risk of boring you, here is my compressed 3rd week:

Day 15: Explore Visuals and Content – Played around with colours + fonts a bit but heck – nothing jumped out demanding to be made permanent! Nor am I at the custom upgrade stage so was just little ol me who saw the effect. 🙂

Day 16: Personalize a Prompt – With an embarrassing 40+ drafts lying ready to either complete or chuck, I have NO shortage of topics! Just time and focus to finish.

Clearly I need to do more than to personalize a prompt… A blog draft intervention is required!

Guess what? As you read this, I’ve been in Kuala Lumpur for several days! With several upcoming posts completed as part of my ‘clean-up’ to tide over my blog while I go into manic work mode.

Day 17: Increase Your Commenting Confidence – Ah more commenting…

Day 18: Activate a Social Network – I suck at anything beyond LinkedIn and Facebook. Even my Twitter & Tumbler accounts are basically one-way communication for this blog. So the prospect of getting on Pinterest, StumbleUpon was just intimidating!

However mid-December, I took the plunge and started ineptly stumbling around.

Since then, every once and awhile, I share older posts and get an instant stats boost! However if anyone is ACTUALLY reading them, finding something of sufficient interest to return, interact and more… I have absolutely no clue!

Day 19: Publish a Post in a New-To-You Format – This is “Aside” rather than “Standard” format, but heck if I can tell the difference.

Day 20: Add a New Page – This had me stumped.. do I really have anything ‘ever green’ for another page?

Maybe at some point I’ll write a brief chronicle of my journey from growing up in Winnipeg, Canada to living in Mumbai, India and working around Asia.

However for now – I have an About and blog Trivia page.

My posts are organized by categories: Every Day, Discovering Difference, Music, Quarterly Summary, Travel, and Whisky.

Without a compelling urgent reason, gonna stick with the current approach.

Hope you haven’t snored through this 3rd instalment in the “Zero to hero: 30 Days to a Better Blog” journey!

I think you’re great for trying! I’ve done nothing 😉 But yeah, I didn’t notice any difference between this format and the other! But then, I’m not terribly observant when it comes to this kind of stuff!
